Short Bio  

It’s safe to say that the first question asked is “Is this the Band I want for my Party or Function ?”

MAJOR MOTION is dedicated to the dance/party, fun-loving generation and was founded by its lead singer L.G. McKenzie in 1982.

If you like to listen and dance to songs that make you remember the days…….. the late 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and  by artists such as K.C. and The Sunshine Band, Earth, Wind and Fire, Kool and The Gang, David Bowie, Cameo, Michael Jackson, The Gap Band and if you want to feel the love songs by tremendous vocalists like Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Brian McKnight, then MAJOR MOTION is for you!

An electrifying rhythm section, made up of synthesized keyboards, bass, drums and rhythm guitar, presents these cover tunes to you.

If you like horns, saxophone and/or trumpet, just say the word, MAJOR MOTION has access to both. Increased the size of this exciting dance band  from five players, to six or even seven.

MAJOR MOTION is a versatile group of dedicated young men that will dress to accommodate any setting.

MAJOR MOTION is a self-contained group that travels with their own sound, lights and crew.

Lead singer for the group, L.G. McKenzie, has a very powerful stage presence and has been entertaining professionally for over 20 years. Singing for clients such as Senator Ted Kennedy at Ted JR’s wedding on Block Island, where the guest list included John F. Kennedy Jr. and Darryl Hanna. L.G. was also invited to perform at a Kennedy Family party on Nantucket Island.

He has performed for Merrill Streep , at a family function as well as New York City Mayor Dinkins at the Mayor’s Birthday Party.

Jim Calhoun, coach of the Uconn Huskies  has also had MAJOR MOTION provide the entertainment for some of their functions.

 MAJOR MOTION loves the crowd and crowd loves them, and always jammin' ,  from The Mohegan Sun Casinos Wolf Den  to Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City.

L.G. McKenzie (song writer/lyricist) is a featured background singer on a Fred Paris album released in 1999. L.G. has released a single of his own entitled “Put a Ring in your Thing” in 2001.       

MAJOR MOTION has has performed at shows with well known groups such as Tower of Power, The Temptations, Chaka Khan, Wyclef Jean, The Fugees and a handful of others.

MAJOR MOTON has been singing and entertaining at venues all across New England for over 15 years and has had a great following and a great time to show for it.
